Trinidadian rapper and singer Nicki Minaj became famous after releasing her first three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009. The “Queen of Rap” earned her title for her uniquely animated rap flow, musical versatility, and multiple alter rap egos. With many other female rap legends like Missy Elliot and Left Eye (Lisa Lopes), Nicki had to differentiate herself through a new sound and persona. With her unique sound and personality, the rapper has become one of the most successful female rappers ever. She has the most number-one albums and top-ten songs of any female rapper in the US. With over 100 million records sold, she is also one of the world’s best-selling musical artists. Billboard named her one of the greatest rappers of all time and the top-selling female rapper of the 2010s.

Minaj has faced significant controversy throughout her career for her outspoken personal views, headstrong fan base, and public feuds with fans and celebrities. Time publication named her one of the most influential people in the world and a fashion icon for her risk-taking style. Always one to stand out in bold colors and funky fashion pieces, Minaj has been featured in several fashion lists and was dubbed a “camp style icon” by Refinery29. During her most recent tour for Pink Friday 2, the singer has modeled numerous custom designer looks that have stunned audiences and already started new trends with fans looking to replicate the iconic looks.

The rapper wore a custom clear crystal Paco Rabanne set styled by Maher Jridi for her single “Last Time I Saw You”, which made her look angelic. The custom set was an appropriate choice as the singer wrote the song about the passing of her late father, Robert Maraj. She took great care to design her cover art for the single, which depicts her wearing the glistening Rabanne set surrounded by shades of pink and water. The star looked like an angel in her version of heaven that she took great care to create.

She looked ethereal dripped in crystals, the perfect look for an angel or a goddess. While Nicki is only human, she certainly fits the look and has the voice of a goddess like the ones from the series Sons of Sand by Kimberly Loth. Liv is anything but human, a goddess who doesn’t know her true potential. When she falls for a genie, her life gets significantly more complicated. She will have to embrace her goddess abilities to stop a brutal war. In the crystal Rabanne set, no one will doubt whether she is a goddess and could help unlock her full potential.

When Liv accidentally releases a dangerously powerful genie named Gabe, she becomes a part of his world in a way she never thought possible. As the two begin to fall in love, Liv discovers a centuries-long war between the djinn and goddesses. And soon, Gabe’s world becomes more deadly than she could have ever expected. As Liv discovers her heritage as a goddess, more problems from Gabe’s past resurface and threaten to kill them both. With Gabe captured, she’ll have to fully embrace her powers to save them both in this series by Kimberly Loth.

Fans of the custom Rabanne skirt worn by Nicki Minaj may like the similar silver embellished Johanna Ortiz skirt from Modesens. Fans who prefer more coverage or a less opaque look may like the Coperni crystal-embellished maxi skirt from Farfetch. Fans who like sequins will love the high-waisted mermaid maxi skirt from Micas. Readers interested in magic, genies, goddesses, paranormal romance, and fantasy will love the Sons of Sand series by Kimberly Loth. Interested readers can buy the series in bookstores and online.
